Why I Love Kraft First Taste!

I just wanted to take a moment to declare my love for one of my favorite online communities! I have talked about Kraft First Taste in some of my Mailbox Monday posts each month but this month has been particularly bountiful so I wanted to give it it's own post!

Earlier this month I was able to request coupons for 6 free full sized products!

When an offer comes in, I request the coupon, the coupon is mailed to me and I pick it up at the store with my weekly trip! Then after I try the product I log in and complete a very brief survey. That's it! I have gotten to try the above foods, Philadelphia Cream Cheese Minis and Digiorno 200 Calorie pizzas as well! Definitely worth signing up for!

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to take a minute to wish my wonderful husband (of 4 years yesterday!) and all the other father's in my life a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY this weekend! You are such a great Daddy, James! Naomi and I love you VERY much!

We will be heading over to Leavenworth to spend time with family in a bit so I most likely won't be online on until Sunday night. I am super excited to get over there though because my shiney new laptop is waiting for me, thanks hubs!! Good Earth Dinner Kit Review and Giveaway!

Coming to stores this June, Good Earth Dry Dinner Kits! Easy to prepare meals made with 100% whole grains, no trans fats, no artificial flavors or preservatives and no MSG. All you have to do is add your own meat!

They will have five delicious kits to choose from including: Mediterranean Chicken with angel hair pasta, Spicy Citrus Glazed Shrimp with angel hair pasta, Herb Crusted Chicken with mushroom risotto and Tuscan Chicken with penne pasta.

Good Earth courtesy of My Blog Spark sent me a gift pack including the Mediterranean Chicken to try for myself and review on here!

While I do usually prefer to cook from scratch and avoid pre-packaged meals, I have to say, this was delicious! It was extremely easy to prepare and tasted great, my 2 year old even liked it. All I needed extra was a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and two chicken breasts. I also added some green peas and a bit of freshly shredded parmesan cheese.

Honestly the only gripe I had was that the coating on the chicken didn't stick very well once you added the wet ingredients, it would have been better to cook the chicken and the sauce separately and then toss everything together at the end. All in all, I thought the flavor was great though. It would be nice to have one or two of these in my stockpile for days when I really don't feel like cooking or going out to eat!

Printable Coupon: Earthbound Farm Baby Spinach!

If you know me you know that I am obsessed with Green Smoothies! I make one for Naomi and I every morning and they are SO delicious! Trust me on this you CANNOT taste the spinach in these drinks and it is an excellent way to add veggies, iron, folic acid and omega-3's into your diet every day!

Here is my favorite Green Smoothie recipe:

- 1 cup milk or liquid yogurt

- 1/2 cup crushed ice

- 2 tbsp. milled/ground flax seed

- 1-2 tbsp. peanut or almond butter

- 1 large banana

- 3 large handfuls of fresh spinach

I usually blend up the milk and spinach first and then add the rest of the ingredients. DELICIOUS! If you don't like peanut butter you can omit the ice and pb for 1 cup of frozen berries. The smoothie comes out a dark purple and tastes amazing! Experiment with what you and your kids like!

Safeway: Updated Coupon Policy

A while back I did a post about various coupon policies at stores.

Safeway has recently updated there policy online HERE. I highly recommend you check it out and print a copy to keep in your coupon organizers for those sticky situations that tend to come up!

Here are my 2 favorites!

8. Safeway will accept valid manufacturer coupons that display another retailer’s logo or name.
9. Safeway will accept valid Catalina manufacturer coupons that are issued to a customer by another retailer.

This means that they will take the manufacturer coupons printed from Target's website and they will take Catalinas that have printed at other stores like Target, Albertsons, Fred Meyer, etc. WAHOO!

Metropolitan Market: Kirkland Grand Opening Continues

Hello again to all my local readers! Last week I wrote up a little post about my grand opening experience at the new Metropolitan Market in Kirkland. Well I must say, we went back on Tuesday (not as busy!) and came away with our free pineapple, 2 lbs of bananas for $.64, 4 lbs. of Tillamook Cheese for $5.94 and ahem... 4 cupcakes from Cupcake Royale! (They were on sale, and might I say cupcakes are yummy but even yummier when you get them on sale!)

Fun Pampers Deal This Week!

**UPDATE** It seems like the ad/photo is wrong. A Fabule$$ly Frugal Mom has reported that there are only 140 diapers in the size 4 bin which makes the diapers about $.32/each, YIKES! You can get Pampers cheaper than that most of the time so I wouldn't really recommend this deal.

If you are a "Pampers Snob" like me then here is an interesting deal you can take part in at Toys "R" Us or Babies "R" US this week.

The Limited Edition Pampers-in-a-Bin tubs are on sale for $45.99

It is a 14 gallon Rubbermaid tub full of Cruisers diapers, $35 in coupons, a Leapfrog book and a Splashers beach ball! The ad says it is over a $90 value and is available in sizes 3, 4 and 5.

According to the picture, the size 4 bin has 176 diapers inside. Without coupons this works out to be $.26/diaper which is not great since you can get Huggies at Costco for $.24/diaper.

However, if you have any coupons this could be a sweeter deal. I found some $2.00 off Cruisers coupons recently at Safeway so that would knock the price down to $.24/diaper plus all the bonus items and coupons which seems like a pretty good deal to me, plus you would be stocked on diapers for at least a few weeks and have a new storage bin!

Locals: Kirkland Met. Market Grand Opening

Good Morning Friends!

I just wanted to do a quick post about the grand opening of a new grocery store in the Kirkland area. The Metropolitan Market just opened today in the Houghton neighborhood. Now the Met. Market is not a store I usually shop at because the prices are substantially higher than my usual stores. For Example: 1 lb of organic strawberries is on sale for $4.00 this week, but at Fred Meyer they are on sale 2 for $4. Yikes!

However, I do love a good grand opening celebration! They have some great events going on this month at the store that are sure to be full of free samples and such. I also got a coupon in the mail for a free pineapple!

This morning I braved the crowds and stood in line forever and was sadly not one of the 1st 500 guests to get in. Those lucky peeps got a bag full of goodies and coupons, boo hoo! I did get a free reusable shopping bag & magazine for my efforts though and Naomi was also happy to get a balloon. Plus, had it not been only 10 am I probably would have waited in the 2nd line for a piece of cake!

I didn't stay long but I am going to go back in the next few days because they had bananas on sale for only $.27/lb and the baby loaves of Tillamook cheese for $3.97. I plan to get a couple using the $1.00 off Tillamook cheese coupon from the Safeway Dairy books! $3.00 for 2 lbs of cheese is definitely a stock up price. Plus I still need my free pineapple!

As you probably know, when I find a good deal on TP I STOCK UP! I am just now getting down to my last 24 pack of TP that I paid under $2 for about 3 months ago. I consider toilet paper a good deal when I can get a double roll pack for under $.25/roll. Did you know that Coscto TP is $.49/roll?! I used to buy that stuff every time I went, if I had only known then what I know now!
