Upcoming Just Between Friends Kids Consignment Sale {Giveaway!}

I recently discovered the wonder that is children's consignment sales! I started out by shopping at them after I had my daughter 3 years ago and just this year have started selling at them!

Shopping at consignment sales is an excellent way to save money by buying gently used clothing/toys/equipment and even maternity clothing. Generally you will find anything and everything baby/kid or mommy at this sale and at a fraction of what the retail price is! The clothing is mostly brand name and sometimes is even new with tags! My favorite part of consignment sales is the last day 50% off sale where most items have been discounted even further!

Selling at a children's consignment sale is a great way to clear out the extra clutter in your home and make a little extra cash to boot! The best part is that you set your own prices on your items and you keep 65% of everything that sells! You can choose to donate what is left after the sale or pick up your pre-sorted items after the sale is over! At the last sale I participated in I got a check in the mail for $155 2 weeks after the sale!

The Just Between Friends Sale in Lynnwood happens twice a year and their spring/summer sale is just around the corner coming up on June 9th-12th, 2011!

Fred Meyer Deals!

I love Fred Meyer, and I love it even more now that my daughter & I have discovered the Playland amenity! She gets to go meet some kids and play for an hour and I get to relax and enjoy the free hour of kid-free shopping!

I also love Fred Meyer because they have an awesome coupon exchange bin at the front of the store. This is where people drop the Catalinas they won't use and grab some that they will. I have found some awesome high value coupons in this bin and saved them for a good sale! Plus Fred Meyer has e-coupons that can be loaded directly to your card and their coupon policy allows you to use Catalinas from other stores as long as it states "Manufacturer Coupon" on the CAT.

Here is what I got today:
2 Loaves of Bread (with no HFCS!) - on clearance for $.75 each!
1 Bag of Cinnamon Rasin bagels - on clearance for $1.39
1 12 oz bag of Peet's Coffee - on sale for $7.99

1 package of Farmland bacon - $3.33 with in-ad coupon
1 package of Pampers Kandoo wipes - $1.99
- used all of my Fred Meyer in-ad coupons
- $1.00
e-coupon for Farmland bacon
- $1.50 off any Pampers Kandoo item CAT found in coupon exchange
- $1.00 off any Honey Bunches of Oats CAT found in coupon exchange
- $1.00 off 1 Honey Bunches of Oats Rasin Medley found in coupon exchange
- $2.00 off Peet's Coffee
printable
- $3.00 Walgreens Register Rewards catalina coupon

- $.10 for using 2 of my own bags to carry my groceries.

Paid only $.67 each for the cereals and $.49 for the Kandoo wipes plus being able to use my $3 RR CAT got me all the breads for free!

Target: Cheap Zantac & John Frieda

I also ran to Target today since I hadn't been in a couple of weeks and I am running low on Zantac - my Dr.'s preferred medication for my insane pregnancy heartburn - and I knew it was on Price Cut so I could get a good deal!

Zantac 150 mg., 24 ct. - $7.97 each x 2
- used (2) $5.00 off Printables
- used (2) $2.00 off Target Printables
Final Price OOP for 2 boxes: $1.94 ($.97 each)

John Frieda Root Awakenings - Price cut to $5.24 each
- used $3/2 Target Printable
- used $3.00 off any Root Awakenings coupon from 5/1 SS insert
- used $1.00 off any John Frieda product coupon from 5/1 SS insert
Final Price OOP: $3.48 (or $1.74 each)

If I had bought 2 papers that week I would have had 2 of the $3 off Root Awakenings coupons and would have saved an additional $2.00 - bummer but still a good price since I needed shampoo & conditioner!

There were a few other deals that I was hoping to find but my store is under construction converting to a new Super Target (woot!) so they are low in stock on pretty much everything right now. I may have to hit up a different Target this week sometime to see if I can find a few more deals! To see the other Target deals for this week, check out this extensive coupon match-up list!

My Almost Free Albertsons Trip Today!

We had 3 Albertsons Twice the Value coupons come in our Sunday paper this week! This means that you can pair this with any manufacturer coupon up to $1.00 and this coupon will double it! Since us up here in the Northwest don't have any stores that double coupons these come in very handy when we get them!

Since you can only use 3 "Doublers" per transaction, I split my purchase into two separate transactions. (I stopped by my store's customer service desk where they have a stack of the weekend ad on hand, hence the 2 sets of doublers!)

Transaction #1:
2 Boxes of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta - $1.00/box
1 Luna Bar - $1.00
1 Lawry's Marinade - on sale 10 for $10 ($1.00 each)
Sub-Total before coupons = $4
- used $1.00/2 Healthy Harvest Printables
- used $.50/1 Luna Bar coupon from 5/22 RP insert
- used $.50/1 Lawry's Marinade coupon from 5/15 RP insert
- used 3 Doublers (-$2)
Final Price: All 4 Items FREE!! Love seeing the register pop up with a big fat ZERO on the total line!

Transaction #2:
2 Bottles of Kikkoman Soy Sauce - $1.99 each
2 Bottles of Fuze bottled drink - $1.25 each
Sub-Total: $6.48
- used (2) $1.00/1 Kikkoman product Printable
- used $1.00/2 Fuze drinks coupon from the 4/3 SS Insert
- used 3 Doublers (-$3.00)
Final Price: $.48!
I got $.02 overage on the soy sauce so I made sure that I paired them in a transaction with an item that would not be completely free so that my overage didn't go to waste!

If these items are not something you need or would like some extra ideas on what to use your doublers on, my favorite extreme couponer, Coupon Connections has a HUGE list of items in her post!

**P.S. She has also just had confirmation that we will be getting doublers in our Sunday papers again this week! So next week should be another fun week of freebies!

Ice Cream Party at my House!!

I posted about this awesome ice cream deal at Albertsons this week yesterday but I just wanted to show you what I was able to score this morning at my store! (You might have noticed that I have been shopping a lot this week, Albertsons, Safeway & Rite Aid are literally 1 min from my house so it's really easy for me to run down and grab a deal if it comes up, it even makes for a nice walk when the weather is nice!)

I did 2 separate transactions and all in all paid $1.00 out of pocket for each item in the photo with the exception of the cheese that was free!

Transaction #1:
(4) Breyers Natural Ice Creams - LOVE this stuff, no HFCS!! - $12.00
(2) Bags of Sun Chips - 2 for $6
1 Bag of Touch of Philadelphia Cheese - $2.99
Sub-Total before coupons: $20.99
- used (4) $1.00 off Breyers Printables - two computers to get 4 coupons
- used in-ad coupon to make Sun Chips 2 for $4
- used $2 off 2 Sun Chips coupons from 5/1 coupon inserts
- used Get One Free coupon for Kraft with a Touch of Philly Cheese from Kraft First Taste!
- used $5 Catalina coupon from last week's Pampers deal
Final Price OOP: $5.00; Then received a new $4 Catalina for the ice cream!

Transaction #2:
(4) Boxes of Magnum Ice Cream Bars - $12.00
-used $4 Catalina from previous transaction
- used (4) $1.00 off Magnum Printables - two computers to get 4 coupons
Final Price OOP: $4.00, Received another $4 Catalina for my next trip to Albertsons!

Now we have enough ice cream & chips to get us through the rest of the pregnancy, lol!!

Updated Store Coupon Policies List

With all the changes to various store policies lately I thought it would be a good idea to make an updated list to share with all of you. I HIGHLY recommend you print off a copy for each store you regularly shop at and keep it in your binder with you. I have had to pull out a copy at a store before to show a cashier that didn't know their own store's policy that what I was doing was actually accepted and encouraged!

Grocery Stores:

Albertsons

Safeway - Now accepts Catalina coupons from other stores! (For Example, if you get a coupon for $1.00 off Yo-Baby at Fred Meyer at checkout you can use it at Safeway as long as the Catalina states Manufacturer coupon!)

Fred Meyer

Drug Stores:

Rite Aid

Walgreens

Mass Retailers:

Target - Accepts 1 Target Coupon & 1 Manufacturer coupon per item!

Walmart - Walmart will now give you overage on coupons, meaning they will actually pay you if the value of the coupon is greater than the value of the item!! Wahoo!

There's an awesome Catalina deal on ice cream products this week at Albertsons! (5/4-5/10/11) Here is how you can get 2 tubs of Breyers Natural & 2 Boxes of the new Magnum ice cream bars for only $4 after coupons & Catalinas!

Pay $8.00 OOP, Receive a $4 Catalina good toward your next purchase!

That's only $1.00 per item!

Ben & Jerry's is also participating in this sale but I don't think there are any coupons out right now so they would end up being $2.00 each.

Catalina coupons are the coupons that print out at the register after you pay. Don't throw these away! Use them to help pay for your next purchase!

Here is what I bought today:

Remember you must buy 10 participating items to get the $5 savings!

2 Boxes Clif Kids Z Bars - $1.99 each

Basically the Z bars were $.99/box or $.16/bar which is an excellent price for those, the pasta boxes were $.25 each and then I was paid $.02 for the chips with my coupons! I won't need pasta for a long while!

Head over to Coupon Connections HERE to get coupon matchups for all of the participating items & see how you can make this sale work for you & your family!

*BTW - I am very glad that I got paid to buy the chips because in my opinion - they tasted TERRIBLE!

Power Shop Tuesday!

Today was one of those kind of shopping days where everything falls into place. The deals are right, the stuff is in stock and my 3 year old was actually behaving! I had a very short window to pack in as much as I could so before I left the house I wrote out a list of the things I wanted to buy from each store and made paper clipped stacks of coupons to put in the front of my binder so I had them at the ready and didn't need to search for anything at the store. I still brought my binder and am glad I did because I did find a couple of extra items that I was glad I had my coupons for!

First Stop: Target

(2) Super Cute plastic Easter plates to save for next year (90% off Clearance!) - $.19 each!

(2) 1 qt. Bottles of Similac Sensitive Ready to Feed - on sale $3.84 from $6.85

(2) Aveeno sun care items - $9.89 Each (Receive $10 Target card wyb 2)

Sub Total: $27.84

- used (2) $3 off any Similac coupons from a coupon insert a couple of weeks ago

- used $2.00 off any Aveeno printable from my Recyclebank points

- used $1.00 off any Aveeno Active Naturals coupon from previous coupon insert

- used (2) $1.00 off any Aveeno Target coupons

Paid: $16.84 + tax OOP and received a $10 gift card for my next Target purchase!

Basically I paid $.84 each for the formula and $2.39 each for the sunscreens. I am hoping that I will be able to breastfeed my new baby but just incase I can't or if I need to occassionally supplement, I want to be prepared for as little $$ as possible.

2nd Stop: Rite Aid

Bought 1 Crest Pro-Health 4 oz Toothpaste - $2.99
- used $1.50 off Crest coupon from 5/1 P&G Insert
- used $1.00 +Up Reward from previous purchase
Paid $.77 OOP including tax, Received $2 +Up Reward for my next purchase!

I got PAID to buy this toothpaste!
I am not like those people on Extreme Couponing that have 1,000 tubes of toothpaste stockpiled; its unrealistic and I don't have the storage space! I have about 5 or 6 total. Toothpaste is one of those things that I can always get for free with coupons so I don't buy a ton of it when it's on sale, just 1 or 2 which is plenty for my family.

3rd Stop: Walgreens

1 Gillette Pro-Glide Razor system - on sale $9.89
2 Lysol Wipes - on sale B1G1 Free (or 2 for $3.59)
1 Puffs 100 ct. tissues - on sale $.99 with in-ad coupon
Sub-Total before coupons: $14.47
- used $5.00 off Gillette Razor from P&G home mailer (NLA but there was a $4 off coupon in the P&G insert this month)
- used (2) $1.50 off 1 Lysol Facebook coupon (sorry NLA)
- used $.50 off 1 Puffs coupon from the P&G home mailer
Final Price OOP: $5.97 + tax, Received $5 Register Reward coupon good toward my next purchase for buying the razor.

My husband uses an electric razor but because I essentially got paid $.11 for buying this razor I can give it to someone else who does use razors. I also paid only $.30 each for the disinfectant wipes and only $.49 for the tissues.

Plus I have $5 to use on my next trip! Ideally with sales like this I can buy something there next week that I can pay for with my Rewards and in return get more rewards, which only builds my savings and costs me nothing OOP for more products!

Our 4th and final stop for the day was: Safeway {I did 2 transactions}

#1

3 Hallmark cards - 1 for $1.99 & 2 for $1.49

Paid: $4.97 + tax OOP, Received a Catalina coupon for $5 off my next purchase!

(3 free cards!)

#2

Mission Tortillas (8ct.) - $1.49 with in-ad coupon

+ a few other random grocery items that I needed like egg noodles, bananas & cream cheese

I paid for my 2nd transaction with the $5.00 Catalina coupon from the 1st transaction!

The tortillas were cheaper at a different store this week (only $.99) but because I only had a certain amount of time & gas it isn't logical to go all the way to another store just to save $.49.

Albertsons: Hot Pampers Deal through 5/3

Coupon Connections has come up with an awesome scenario using coupons from yesterday's newspaper inserts (there were 3!) and sheet of 3 Twice the Value coupons! I just went to my local store and did this deal and it worked perfectly plus it only uses 2 of your 3 doublers so you can add another coupon deal into your order!

Check out the full details on the deal HERE!

Here is what I bought today:
1 big pack of Pampers (Size 3 - 96ct.) - $19.99
1 tub of Pampers wipes - $2.99
1 Cover Girl eyeshadow - $2.64
2 Tony's Crispy Crust party pizzas - $1.00 each

Sub-Total before coupons: $27.62

Coupons I used:
$2.00 off any Pampers Diapers (from a Home Mailer I received. There was a $1.50 off coupon in yesterday's paper.)

$.50 off any Pampers Wipes coupon from 5/1 P&G insert

$1.00 off any Cover Girl product from 5/1 P&G insert

$1.00 of 2 Tony's Pizza products

plus my 3 Twice the Value Albertsons coupons (-$2.50 additional!)

Total OOP today: $20.62 - At checkout I received 3 Catalina coupons: $5 off my next purchase of Pampers, $5 off my next purchase of anything and 5 FREE Redbox movie rental codes!

That's like paying $10.62 for everything plus getting 5 free movie rentals! It works out to be about $.10/diaper which is way better than the $.17/diaper Costco price for Huggies in this size! With the new baby coming very soon I have been stocking up on various sizes of diapers so we are prepared when he/she comes and we won't have to pay full price for spendy diapers ever!

Plus I got an additional Catalina with a code on it for 10 free Pampers Gifts to Grow points! If you have a baby and use diapers this is a program you have to sign up for. You acrue points for the items you buy and then use the points to get free products! From the points I got from codes today I was finally at enough points for a $10 Starbucks gift card! Why not be rewarded for the things you are already buying anyway?! Sign up HERE for the Gifts to Grow program!

Note: If you do not subscribe to the Sunday paper, your store should sell them all week for $2 each and they will have the coupons in them. I have heard there is a deal going for the Sunday Seattle Times delivery for only $1.58/issue going on right now if you are thinking of signing up.
