Local Event: Bellevue Goodwill Designer Sale Fri & Sat

The Bellevue Goodwill store is having it's first ever Designer Label event! More than 4,500 items are on sale with brands including: Coach, Versace, 7 for All Mankind and more!

The sale is running today until 9pm and tomorrow from 9:30am to 9pm as well. They plan on re-stocking the shelves as items go so you don't need to be first in line to get the goods either!

Personal Note: I do a lot of thrift store shopping and am always on the lookout for great designer bargains that I can use, give away or re-sell but be sure you are on the lookout for counterfeit items. People are generous when donating (especially in the Bellevue area!) but they are a lot more willing to give up a fake pair of 7’s than a real pair… I have found countless fakes at thrift stores before. The people that do the pricing don't always know the difference between a fake and an authentic piece; if it says 7 for All Mankind they price it accordingly whether it's real or not.

If you buy something and aren’t sure if its a fake, leave the Goodwill tag on and keep your receipt then take it to Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, anywhere that sells that brand and have them verify it’s real. If it’s not, Goodwill has a 7 day return policy.

Hi Everyone! Did I scare you? I know I haven't been around for a while!

I am back from Las Vegas! Well, actually I got back on Monday afternoon, but it has taken me until TODAY to fully recover and get back to life as usual! My trip was wonderful and so needed; my batteries have been recharged! Plus you will all be pleased to know that of my $300 spending money for the weekend, I only spent $200 and that was a stretch! I was pretty proud of myself with that because I could have SO easily gone overboard being there, everything in Vegas is extravagant and expensive!

At any rate, I am home and back to our weekly routine, and hopefully this means couponing as well! I have been in a couponing rut again the past few weeks but I am hoping that this week I can go through my stash and hit up some stores! This of course would be easier if I had gotten my Sunday paper delivery this week, I was not happy when I got home to find an empty driveway! Plus my mailbox did not have my weekly store ads in it yesterday either, grrr! How am I supposed to get back into saving money if I don't have my valuable resources?!

Just a note: if you miss a delivery of your Sunday paper (and don't get your inserts; those things are like money to me!!) then make sure you call your paper service! They can have a copy delivered to you the next day usually or will for sure give you a credit on your bill for the missed delivery, or both if you are really lucky!

Worth Reading: Running a Successful Yard Sale

Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately, I haven't been in a very bloggy kind of mood! Plus I am getting ready for a Fabule$$ girls trip to Las Vegas this weekend!

It's that time of the season again! I am starting to clear out my house of the massive amounts of clutter that somehow accumulate over the course of a year and hold our annual garage sale! We actually held two last year, one at my mom's house in Cashmere, WA in May and one large sale with all of our neighbors here in Kirkland in August with all the leftovers from the first sale + more and we made over $500 (not including everyone else that participated) from the sales!

One of my favorite bloggers (MoneySavingMom.com) just did a great post about how to hold a successful garage sale HERE. If you are thinking of doing a sale this season while the weather is nice, I highly recommend reading this article!

I am a firm believer in stashing things away for garage sales and not throwing things away, this of course drives my husband NUTS! He hates it when he goes to throw an item out and I say, "WAIT! I will save it for the yard sale!" This being the yard sale that will take place 6 months later! Somehow by every spring I have saved and gathered enough items to hold another sale. I am planning on doing this year's over in Cashmere again in a few weeks so I have my work cut out for me!
